#igotout LIVE: Supporting Survivors Through Storytelling

This gathering is a celebration for the extraordinary successes igotout.org has already witnessed and a warm welcome for all folks in the greater Portland area to explore what happens when a virtual “community” meets in person for the first time. Co-founders Gerette and Lisa will facilitate a presentation and be joined by a number of #igotout collaborators and members of the Action Team.

We experienced the power of a story driven movement from #metoo. Today – more than ever –  our true, lived experiences are a necessary antidote to the division and misinformation that plagues society. The telling and sharing of our stories of cultic abuse, whether they are shared publicly, anonymously or only with our loved ones, helps us to educate each other, heal ourselves and potentially prevent further harm.

The #igotout movement is on a trajectory to support countless more people to reclaim voices silenced by coercive control and share the stories the world needs to hear in order to understand and de-stigmatize cultic involvement. How did we get to this point and what are the possibilities for the future? If your life has been impacted by cultic coercion, please know that you are warmly invited to this evening event.

This event will also be available through zoom if you are unable to attend in person.
