Episode 3.4A: “The Cultic Culture Club,” (part 4), feat. Fielding McGehee, director of the Jonestown Institute.

The one where we talk about cultish groups that went deadly, take a dive into the paranoid mind of Peoples Temple leader Jim Jones and discuss the horrible mass suicide he triggered.  Brought to you by some demented philosophers and angry librarians.

Fielding M. McGehee III is the Research Director and co-founder (along with his wife, Rebecca Moore) of the Jonestown Institute. The institute is an extensive online resource that serves as a major digital archive and resource for information on the Peoples Temple and the Jonestown tragedy that occurred in Guyana on November 18, 1978

The Jonestown Institute: The institute’s website, Alternative Considerations of Jonestown & Peoples Temple, is a collaboration with the Special Collections of Library and Information Access at San Diego State University. Its primary goal is to present information about the movement and tragedy as accurately and objectively as possible, documenting the lives of both the living and the dead
