Webinar (CPRLV): The Manosphere : Gender identity and online hate

Social transformations on gender and sexual diversity issues have, in Quebec as elsewhere, provoked negative reactions from movements commonly grouped under the term “Manosphere”. The CPRLV is offering a training session whose objective is to demystify the movements associated with the Manosphere. Thus, in this presentation, we will make sure to detail the main groups that make up the Manosphere and their ideological universe. We will examine the context of emergence of these movements, their mediums, their lexicon and their concrete forms of expression of violence. Finally, this training presents tools for engaging in dialogue with a person claiming to be from the Manosphere.

Distinguish between the different movements of the Manosphere
Examine the evolution of the Manosphere over time
Learn helpful postures and relevant tools for engaging in dialogue with a person claiming to be part of the Manosphere
